After swearing in my last post that I wouldn’t go so long between posts, here I am again. Two more weeks of nothingness. Hey! Sounds pretty much like my life! So, here is a brief update, in bulleted form.

  • After waking us up at 3 in the morning several nights in a row, our new dog has finally decided to sleep through the night. Thank god.
  • The cat is doing much better. Although she has yet to befriend her new canine companion, she has at least stopped hissing and will venture out of our bathroom. I consider that progress.
  • We got a new TV for our bedroom. The old one started making this horrible sound when you turned it on, so I sold it for $2 at the garage sale I had last week. It’s nice to finally have a decent TV in there.
  • I only made a total of $67 during the above mentioned garage sale. Less the $12.49 for the newspaper ad, so actually only $54.51. Hardly worth it, really. Fortunately, a couple of friends went in with me so it wasn’t a total waste. They made money.
  • Part of our fence got knocked down during a tornado/windstorm. N wrote more about this on his site. With pictures, even!
  • AE is doing well. Getting taller and taller – I noticed last night that a pair of pajama pants that were too long when he got them in September are now about 3 inches too short. Wow.
  • I watched The Pursuit of Happyness over the weekend. So depressing. Honest to god, it made me want to go wake up AE and just hug him forever. The movie was good, but so, so sad. Just when you think this poor guy’s life couldn’t get any worse, it did. And then got worse than that. Will Smith was excellent, though, and his real-life son did a great job too. Overall, a movie worth watching – but have a box of tissues handy. Good goo.

Okay, I think I’m done for now. I really will try to post more often. HA HA HA.

Our cats never accepted our dogs…they SO never accepted them that I got tired of wiping their pee off of everything they thought was theirs and had to get rid of a couch, before I kicked them out. So just be thankful if your cat is not marking everything she believes to be hers. (I’m not advocating kicking cats outside, but for our situation, they do actually like it outside and have made many cat friends who they bring over to eat their food, like dinner parties for the cats of the neighborhood. And they have yet to be in a fight, although the vet said even though they were declawed up front, they would still be able to defend themselves, because they mostly fight with their back claws anyway.)

I am advocating kicking cats outside, or just kicking them in general. Especially our cat. She’s worthless.
