It appears that I will be overwhelmed and insanely busy at work from now until, oh, eternity. It has gotten to the point now that I always have so much to do that I don’t even know where to start. And Miss T’s sleep has been even worse than usual for the past few nights so I’m trying to do everything in a fog of sleep-deprivation as well. It is a good thing that my job doesn’t require me to operate heavy machinery. I guess my point here is that you shouldn’t expect terribly substantive posts from me anytime soon. But that isn’t much of a deviation from my usual, so probably I shouldn’t have even mentioned it and no one would be the wiser.

Miss T continues to keep us on our toes – we went to a barbeque at a friend’s house yesterday afternoon and she busied herself by running about the yard and taking custody of another child’s baby doll:

See? Cute, but sneaky. Don’t turn your back on this one.
As further proof that she is plotty, she has apparently developed a daily routine at daycare of trolling for the other kids’ pacifiers. She goes along the row of cribs every afternoon, sticking her arm in each one all the way up to her shoulder. And she figured out that if by doing that she can’t reach the plug itself, she can still get it if it happens to be sitting on a blanket. She just pulls the blanket toward the bars until the plug is within her grasp. I have no idea what she actually wants with these plugs (being a picky pacifier connoisseur herself, she won’t actually use any but the approved kind) - I can only assume that she likes the challenge.
Miss T also had a fun time in the playpen yesterday afternoon. We don’t ever put her in it (right now we’re using it to block off the fireplace) so I figured she’d freak as soon as I did. But nope, she had a grand time climbing up on the boppy and falling backwards. And pulling up, and sitting down, and generally wallowing around and acting nuts:

She is a mess, this one. I can almost guarantee that there will never be a dull moment with her around. I can also almost guarantee that we won’t be able to put out our Christmas tree this year due to her propensity for climbing on everything in sight. I don’t suppose anyone has any clever solutions for that?

Patrick bought a piece of plexiglass and put over their fireplace opening to keep Garrett away from the gaslogs and rocks. Used velcro strips on the fireplace tile and the plexiglass to attach it. Works like a charm. As for the Christmas tree, I think a barbed wire fence might come in handy!!!
Such a cute thief!
Christmas Tree solutions: 1) buy a smaller one and put it on a table. 2) we tied ours to the wall in two places (about 1/3rd and 2/3rds of the way up). Although by Christmas last year ours was not pulling on stuff so much. 3) put the tree in a a hardly ever go in room – if you have such a thing.
She is such a problem solver! So smart! Joe wants to “build” a box to put the tree on, since Nate will probably be crawling and pulling on things. I’m not sure if that will be a good solution; I think we might take Kristine’s suggestion and tie it to the wall. We also thought about those play yards that kind of look like dog pens and put that around the tree.
One year, when my brother was around the toddler age, my parents had to put our Christmas tree on top of a table, and then put the table inside a playpen…I’m pretty sure the tree survived that year.
