His role didn’t require a whole lot more than running around and some mild wimpering every once in a while.

I’m okay with Owen Wilson himself, I just generally don’t like the movies he’s in.

What I got tired of was the funky action sequences. I’m getting tired of the cheesy stop-action/sped-up/motion-blur crap that every director has tried to use since Gladiator did it.

It was your standard unbelievable, everyone-not-speaking-English-is-a-bad-guy kind of action movie, but it was okay for what it was. I wasn’t expecting anything great and I ended up getting something in the realm of “slightly above average”.

It’s a shame that they didn’t take the time to really explain the various parties involved in the Serbian conflict and how they played against one another. Instead, we just got a smattering of explanation and a very weak “Everybody over here hates each other and the Americans”. I got the sense that some more back story was originally in the script but probably got cut so Owen Wilson could dodge more torrential downpours of bullets while techno-pop played in the background.

Isn’t this actually Movie Review #4?

Natch.
