So, another week and a half has flown by with no update from me.  I doubt anyone cares, but you know.  There’s no point in pretending that I have been up to anything interesting during that time, mostly just the same old, same old.  Busy at work, busy at home, and life marches on.

Updates!

  • You may have noticed that I’ve changed my blog template.  (You may not have.  That’s fine too.)  I’m not completely enamored of this one, it is a bit more Avril Lavigne teen-angst than I was going for, but since I could not find exactly what I wanted this one will do in the interim.  N hates it, however, and found something that I do actually like quite a bit, and as soon as we he can tweak it a bit I’ll get that one up.
  • Speaking of things N hates, I finally got him to admit that he “intensely dislikes” my hair.  Which, sorry man.  It’s gonna take a trip to the salon and probably upwards of $150 to put it back to the original color.  Not to mention, I like it, so for now, the Feria Chocolate Cherry is here to stay.
  • AE got his finger smashed in the door at school today.  Actually, I think “smushed” is the official term on the nurse’s office report.  It’s what tends to happen when you put your finger in the door hinge right before someone closes it.  Common sense FAIL.
  • Miss T has been sniffly and runny-nosed for the last several days, and she had a rather crappy night of sleep last night (which meant – wait for it – so did I), so I was totally convinced when she woke up cranky that she was sick.  An ear infection, don’t you know, because I am nothing if not the Mother Who Cried Ear Infection.  And I was so busy at work, I just KNEW that I’d be getting that call from daycare ANY TIME.  I spent all morning checking my phone to make sure I hadn’t missed The Call when I went for my eleventy-billionth cup of coffee.  And then I went to pick her up after work, and they were all, “She had a wonderful day!”  That child, she is a puzzle.  And kind of a pain in the ass sometimes.
  • Last night I opened a bottle of Madria Sangria because it was the only thing I had that didn’t require a corkscrew (yes, I am truly THAT lazy).  Anyway, it’s cheap, it’s good, it’s available at your local neighborhood H-E-B:

And with that, let’s call it a night.  Peace out, y’all.
